Algonquin
• An employee was accused of theft Wednesday at Office Max, 1806 Randall Road, police said. Matthew R. Stevens, 18, of 651 Brookside Ave., Algonquin, was charged with felony retail theft after store security said he tried to steal two pieces of computer software valued at a total of $539.98, police said. Stevens posted $400 bond and was given a July 9 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Carpentersville
• A Crystal Lake woman was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday on Lake Marian Road, police said. Kellie A. Myers, 39, of 73 Holly Drive, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after 44.34 grams of marijuana and two small bags of crack cocaine were found, police said. Myers also was cited for driving while license suspended, suspended registration, speeding and no insurance, police said. Myers was held in the Kane County jail on $500 bond with a July 7 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Elgin
• An Elgin man was accused of drunken driving after a property damage traffic accident at 8 p.m. Saturday on the 39W300 block of Highland Avenue in Elgin, police said. Rodney A. Boyd, 34, of 14N538 Bonnie Lane, Elgin, was charged with four counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of driving while license revoked, police said. A blood-alcohol test a 0.175 percent reading, more than twice the legal limit, police said. According to the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, Boyd's driving license had been revoked to a previous drunk driving conviction. Boyd posted $5,000 bond and was given a July 9 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A burglar kicked in a home's steel door between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on the 500 block of Crystal Street. He stole a piggy bank, a plastic container holding change, a gold chain with a baptism pendant, a purple pendant and two watches all together worth $500.
Sleepy Hollow
• A Carpentersville man wanted on a warrant was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday at Route 72 and Hickory Drive, police said. Mark San Filippo, 35, of 405 Wyndham Trail, was cited for a loud muffler and driving while license revoked, police said. San Filippo also was wanted on a Kane County warrant on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. San Filippo posted $1,100 in bonds and was given court dates of July 25 in St. Charles and Aug. 21 in Elgin. A passenger also wanted on a warrant also was arrested, police said. Jeffrey J. Potter, 40, of 109½. Main St., W. Dundee, was charged on the warrant with driving while license revoked, police said. Potter posted $1,000 bond and was given a July 28 court date in Maywood.
