A Safe Place Golf Outing: 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., June 19, White Deer Run Golf Course in Vernon Hills. Includes lunch, golf, dinner, raffle and auction to support the programs of A Safe Place, to work to eliminate domestic violence and provide shelter for its victims. Johnny Roland and Emery Moorehead of the Super Bowl XX Champion Chicago Bears will be special guests, along with Curtis Gentry, Wendell Davis and Mel Gray. BGHS Booster's Golf Outing: Sign-in at 9 a.m., shotgun start at 10:30 a.m., June 20, Buffalo Grove Golf Course, 48 Raupp Blvd., Buffalo Grove. Play will follow a "best ball" format. $100, includes greens fee, cart, lunch ticket and hors d'oeuvres. There will also be a raffle and silent auction. Other prizes for men's and women's longest drive, hole in one and closest-to-the-pin contests. All money earned goes back to the athletic programs at Buffalo Grove High School. Pitching clinic: 5-7 p.m. June 21, Drive Performance, 1543 Abbott Drive, Wheeling. For baseball players of all ages and skill levels. Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Carlos Marmol will address the players in a group format, providing tips on pitching mechanics. Each player will throw pitches in the bullpen for Marmol. $50 for Drive Performance members $50, $65 got nonmembers. To register, call (847) 229-1009.

Shark Frenzy Swim Meet: 8 a.m. June 21 and 22, Birchwood Pool, Palatine Park District, 435 W. Illinois Ave., Palatine Tiger Sharks Swim Team host about 500 swimmers, ages 5 and up, from around the state in this competition. Admission charged.

Bears football camps: Chicago Bears Youth Football Camps will be offered in June and July. The camps are non-contact day camps for young people ages 6 to 14 intended to teach athletic, football and life skills for young athletes. Local camps include the following:

June 23 to 27: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Barbara Rose School, 61 W. Penny Road, Barrington.

July 7 to 11: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Campanelli YMCA, 300 W. Wise Road, Schaumburg.

July 14 to 18: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Poe School, 2800 N. Highland Ave., Arlington Heights.

July 14 to 18: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Laura B. Sprague School, 2425 Riverwoods Drive, Lincolnshire.

July 21 to 25: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Barbara Rose School, 61 W. Penny Road, Barrington.
