The Peter Principle and our politicians

For many years I have watched the activities of our U.S. senators and congressmen, our Illinois state legislators and governors, county and village officials and most recently, the latest presidential candidates.

What I have seen brings back to mind that in industry we workers frequently referred to the "Peter Principle" as being applicable to many managers.

What is the "Peter Principle?" Simply stated it says, "People rise to their own level of incompetence." I rest my case.
