Why I want to donate my hair to locks of love

Bridget Hollatz grew her hair to donate to Locks of Love. The Lake Park High School junior shares her reasons for donating.

A few years ago my "Grandpa" Fred passed away from cancer. It was a long and painful process for him and I am thankful he no longer has to suffer. Since then I have always wanted to help out people with cancer. When I found out about Locks of Love, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I have always thought that my hair grows fast. But once I decided I wanted to donate my hair, it seemed to take forever. However, I think this whole process has been worth it. I really wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love because I knew it could change someone's life for the better. I strongly believe in giving back to my community because I've been raised to always care for others in need. And although I may never know whose life I change, I take pleasure in knowing I did so.
