Congress doesn't deserve a holiday

Fuel prices have skyrocketed.

Independent truckers are going out of the business and selling their trucks because they can't afford diesel fuel.

School children may have to walk to school because fuel is breaking operating budgets.

Some people can't afford to drive to work or pick up groceries.

All kinds of clues are demonstrating potential problems for our economy.

What are the politicians doing?

Nothing so far and they are about to adjourn for the Fourth of July holiday. They should stay in session on this holiday until they finally do something positive.

Someone should invent an affordable car that operates on hot air. There is enough of that in the beltway and on Capitol Hill to keep us moving for a thousand years. Unfortunately, that will also take decades to develop.

Drilling anywhere in the U.S. for oil should be a priority since there was a foiled attempt to destroy the Saudi oil fields.

Congress had better act quickly before our economy is affected by further catastrophes. The only way to reduce dependency on foreign oil is to drill for our own.
