June brings cruise nights events to downtown Cary
The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will again present the Cruisin' Cary car show. Cruisin' Cary takes place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, June 4-Aug. 27 on West Main Street and Jandus Road, off Route 14. The event attracts several hundred residents and car enthusiasts to downtown Cary.
Each Wednesday has its theme. The schedule is:
Tonight: Dust Off-All Cars and Antiques (1950 and older)
June 11: Corvette Night
June 18: All Bike Night
June 25: Chevelle/Camaro Night
July 2: Street Rod Night
July 9: Import Sports Car Night
July 16: Mopar Car Night
July 23: Rag Top Night
July 30: Cobra/Mustang Night
Aug. 6: GM Night
Aug. 13: Emergency and Military Vehicle/Truck Night
Aug. 20: Land Yachts, Minis and Macros Night
Aug. 27: People's Choice Night.
While all classic cars, hot rods, antiques, muscle cars and more are welcome each night, there is a nightly theme for judging. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday.
Throughout the night, there will be split-the-pot raffles and free giveaways. Cruisin' Cary staff will be selling Fuel the Chamber raffle tickets for $5 each, where the chamber will pay the August home electric bill up to $500 for the first-place winner, and fill a gas tank three times up to $200 for the second-place winner.
