Chain levels hit August mark, and the water keeps rising

Water on the Chain O' Lakes rose another inch overnight, pushing it to the same level as the flood of August 2007.

And officials said today that the water will continue to rise until Tuesday or Wednesday, as more storms pass through the area and additional rainfall recorded up north flows into the Chain.

Water levels recorded in New Munster, Wis., show the Fox River is more than 5 feet above flood stage. It is expected to crest today and begin to drop.
