Union wants charter school
The state's largest teachers union and the corporation that runs the Cambridge Lakes Charter School in Pingree Grove were unable to reach a settlement last week on a grievance filed by the union, according to a union official. The union filed the grievance after the charter school administration asked teachers to denounce the union at a Feb. 25 meeting, union officials said. The union has filed a petition to represent teachers at the charter school, saying most teachers expressed interest in joining. Hearings on the grievance and the petition are scheduled for June 18 and 20.
