Hemingway to help headline alternative health expo
More than 150 exhibitors and 70 speakers -- including actress Mariel Hemingway and relationship author John Gray -- will be on hand for the fourth annual Chicago Health Freedom Expo beginning at 10 a.m. today in Schaumburg.
Nearly 2,000 people are expected to attend the three-day event at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center to learn about the latest natural and alternative health information, products and services.
"These speakers are expected to draw in a lot of people, so get seats early and be prepared to sit for several hours," expo organizer Julie Klein said.
Hemingway is not only an actress and the granddaughter of author Ernest Hemingway, but also shares her passion for yoga and health as an author. She's published books including the best sellers "Finding My Balance" and "Healthy Living From the Inside Out."
She will speak in the Discovery South Room at noon Saturday.
Gray is the author of the "Mars and Venus" collection, including "Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus."
His latest book, "Why Mars & Venus Collide," examines how traditional male and female roles have evolved, how these changes have increased stress and how they affect romantic relationships.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, Gray will speak on how men and women cope with stress differently.
At noon Sunday, Gray will talk about gender-specific strategies for reversing the aging process to create lasting health, happiness, passion and romance.
The other speakers' topics range from dieting advice to fingernail and tongue analysis, to name just a few.
Registration at the door is available.
