Lindsay Anne Brown, daughter of Joette and Bruce Brown of Inverness, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting, from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, on May 4. She has accepted a position as an audit associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago. Lindsay is a 2004 graduate of William Fremd High School, Palatine.
• Dominic Buttitta of Barrington was one of 17 Valparaiso University law students who assisted in the public defender's office in New Orleans March 2 through 8. This was the third time law students have visited the city since Hurricane Katrina to help ease a backlog of court cases that have left minor offenders sitting in jail for months before their first hearing. Students paid for all of their travel, hotel and food expenses, and worked 10 hours a day or more for the public defender's office.
• Walter Claassen, a senior at Saint Mary's University, Winona, Minn., received the Gerald E. Sullivan award (theater arts) April 16 during the annual Senior Academic Honors Banquet. He is the son of Marshall and Nancy Claassen of Barrington.
• Patrick Devero, son of Jon Devero and Joanne Costin of Palatine, was awarded departmental honors at Valparaiso University. Devero, a history major, received an honorable mention for the Department of English Uehling Prize for Writing.
• Jonathan P. Giannone, son of Nancy and John Giannone of Barrington, will graduate from Rush Medical College June 14, and begin his residency in surgery at UIC, Metropolitan Group of Hospitals in Chicago.
• Craig Gresko, a junior at Augustana College and the son of Mike and Sue Gresko of Inverness, made the Dean's list for the winter trimester with a grade point average of 3.60. He also received the S. James Galley Scholarship award in accounting for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year. He is pursuing a double major in accounting and business.
• David Keyes, son of Debbie and Dewey Keyes of Elk Grove Village, graduated May 3 from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and kinesiology. He is a 2003 graduate of James B. Conant High School, Hoffman Estates.
• Danielle Klosowski, daughter of Janice and Ken Klosowski of Schaumburg, was named to the winter semester Dean's list at St. Josesph's College, Rensselaer, Ind. Klosowski graduates magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in mass communication. She is a 2004 graduate of Hoffman Estates High School.
• Robert Kramer from Inverness, a student at William Fremd High School, received an AFS Awards for Excellence scholarship. This is a nationally competitive program which awards scholarships for students to study abroad. Kramer will receive a $1,000 scholarship to study with AFS in Egypt, where he will gain firsthand knowledge of what it is like to live as a member of a family, school, and community in another culture.
• Erin McNamee, daughter of Dan and Bekki McNamee of Schaumburg, graduated on the Dean's list and with honors from Western Illinois University, Macomb, with a bachelor's degree in social work on May 10. McNamee has been accepted into Aurora University's advance standing master's program for school social work. She is a 2004 graduate of Schaumburg High School.
• Ryan Nelson, son of Bill and Becky Nelson of Deer Park, was named to the Spring 2008 Dean's list and honor roll at Purdue University in the College of Aeronautical Engineering. He has completed his junior year.
• Amy Seamann of Schaumburg was placed on DePaul University's Dean List, for the winter quarter 2008. Amy is a 2007 graduate of Schaumburg High School.
• Sarah M. Van Houten of Palatine was named to the dean's list with high honors for the fall 2007 semester at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Van Houten is the daughter of Peter and Magdoline Van Houten and a 2005 graduate of William Fremd High School.
