Briefs: Ten years for robbery
A 35-year-old Chicago man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for stealing his then-girlfriend's wallet, Kane County prosecutors said. Antwan D. McKinney must serve half his sentence before he is eligible for parole in the robbery last June. Police said he and his then-girlfriend had just returned to her apartment in Carpentersville when McKinney grabbed the woman's wallet and ran off, biting her when she resisted. McKinney was arrested in September 2007. McKinney, who prosecutors said has a lengthy criminal record, was convicted of a robbery charge after a bench trial April 8.
