• Amber Cibrario of Elk Grove Village, a junior at North Central College, Naperville, presented a research project at the 22nd National Conference on Undergraduate Research at Salisbury University in Maryland in April. Cibrario, the daughter of Dominic and Geraldine Cibrario, is majoring in biochemistry. Her oral presentation was titled "Quantitating Protein Damage and Protein Repair Enzyme Activity Using HPLC in Escherichia Coli."

• Jessica Lang of Mount Prospect received the Charles Morgan Scholarship from the Upper Iowa University Fayette campus at the April 5 recognition ceremony.

• Kelly Hayden, daughter of Christopher and Sandra Hayden of Arlington Heights, was inducted into the Illinois State University's chapter of Alpha Lampda Delta March 16. Alpha Lambda Delta is an elite honors organization for college freshmen who meet high academic standards.

• Cassie Carbaugh, daughter of Vincent and Linda Carbaugh of Arlington Heights and a student majoring in English and secondary education at Valparaiso University in Indiana, was awarded departmental honors. Carbaugh received the Sieb Scholarship from the Department of English.

• Susan Kemp of Wheeling graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Elmhurst College at the midyear commencement ceremony held Feb. 10. To achieve cum laude honors, she had a GPA between 3.500 and 3.699.
