Voter registration drive: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 7, 837 W. Higgins Road, Schaumburg. The Schaumburg Township Republican Organization will man its headquarters to register new voters or voters moving to Schaumburg Township. Deadline to vote in the Nov. 4 2008 general presidential election is Oct. 7. (847) 884-6480.

Food for Fines: July 27 to Aug. 2, Indian Trails Public Library District, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling. The library welcomes all donated nonperishable food items; for every donated item, $1 will be waived in library fines. Food items must be in good condition, without dents and not in glass containers. Township meeting: 1-3:30 p.m. Aug. 13, Schaumburg Township, 1 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates. A meeting hosted by AgeOptions (the Suburban Area Agency on Aging), Progress Center for Independent Living and Schaumburg Township Senior and Disability Services to discuss the development of a suburban aging and disability resource center and make recommendations for future direction on the project.
