New items arrive at resale shop

The Mission Resale Shop is in Algonquin, one block west of Route 31 at 215 Washington St. and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

The shop has acquired a few antiques, dishes, games, kitchen chairs, music, pictures, a piano keyboard and a large hand-held sickle.

All shop proceeds and donations go to missions around the world. The shop runs only with voluntary workers.

Seasonal donations are accepted only on Friday or Saturday when the shop is open. Call (847) 658-9105 or 847-658-4353 with any questions.

Founders' Bowl set in Algonquin

The sixth annual Founders' Bowl is scheduled for May 17 at Brunswick Zone Algonquin. Dinner is at 7:30 p.m. and bowling begins at 9 p.m.

Grab your neighbors and friends and join in the fun during this fun evening of bowling, food and raffles.

Tickets are now available through the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce. Ticket price is $25 per person and includes dinner, three games of bowling and shoe rental.

This event is open to the public and is a fundraiser for the Algonquin Founders' Days Festival. It also is bringing awareness of the festival and its events to the public.
