Raise funds at the Dog Rescue Wash
Chicagoland Dog Rescue will hold its Doggy Wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 1 at the Wizard of Pawz, 2306 Hassell Road in Hoffman Estates.
The event will raise funds for boarding fees, veterinary care, feeding and all other expenses involved in operating a shelter-less dog rescue. Baths cost from $10 to $18. Other services also available. See complete details at chicagolanddogrescue.org or call (847) 259-6458.
Read with the library
Beginning Sunday, June 1, all Palatine Public Library district card holders, ages 2 through adult, are invited to join the summer reading program "Read … Naturally" at the Palatine Public Library District.
Enjoy nature as the outdoors comes inside the library. The summer's program will include reading, fun and prizes.
Bring your Palatine Public Library card and sign up at the main library, Freeman Road branch or Rand Road branch beginning June 1. The bookmobile will begin sign-up on June 7.
A grand prize T-shirt and Reading Reward coupons will be presented upon completion of all the reading requirements. The program ends July 31. (847) 358-5881.
Join the Spring Valley Chorus
Spring Valley Chorus in Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates is offering women of all ages an opportunity to sing for the summer.
The program runs on Monday nights from 7-9:45 p.m. starting June 16 through August 18, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 Higgins Road, Schaumburg.
Spring Valley Chorus is a fun-loving, hard-working, award-winning women's barbershop chorus that sings a wide variety of songs.
