2 pedestrians hit, killed by train in Chicago

Chicago police say two people have been hit and killed by a train on the city's North Side.

Officer John Mirabelli says the accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. He says both victims were dead at the scene.

A message on Metra's Web site says service on several commuter rail lines, including the Milwaukee West line to Elgin and the Milwaukee North line to Fox Lake, has been stopped by a pedestrian accident involving a Milwaukee District North train.
