Arlington Heights

• Parade: 9:30 a.m. Monday; starts at Arlington Heights Road and Sigwalt Street; ends at Memorial Park, Arlington Heights. (847) 253-5960.

Buffalo Grove

• Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Knopf Cemetery, Kingswood United Methodist Church, Arlington Heights Road, half a mile north of Lake-Cook Road. Flag ceremony, rifle volley, taps with participation by Village President Elliot Hartstein, AMVETS Post 255, American Legion Post 1247, Boy Scout Troop 401 and the Rev. Deanna Mede. (847) 398-0770.

Des Plaines

• Parade: 10:15 a.m. Monday at Maine West High School Auditorium, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Lineup at 9:45 a.m. Starts at parking lot on Howard, continues down Howard to Lake Park Memorial Pavilion.

Elk Grove Village

• Service: 10:45 a.m. Monday, Jack A. Claes Pavilion at the Elk Grove Park District, 1000 Wellington Ave., Elk Grove Village. (847) 437-9494.

Mount Prospect

• Parade: 9:35 a.m. Monday; starts at Emerson Street and Busse Avenue, proceeds to Lions Park at Lincoln and Maple. (847) 392-6000 or www.mountprospect.org.

Rolling Meadows

• Parade and ceremony: 11 a.m. Saturday. Parade steps off from Kirchoff Road and Meadow Drive, march west on Kirchoff to Carillon Tower, where Mayor Ken Nelson and other city officials will lead an observance honoring veterans, set to start at 11:30 a.m. Local veterans and families invited to march, carrying photos and mementos of loved ones. Wheeling

• Parade: 10 a.m. Monday, stepping off at Sam's Club, down Route 83 to Amvets Post 66, 700 McHenry Road. Hot dogs and soda follow the ceremony.
