One hurt in Carol Stream crash

A car accident hospitalized one person and broke a utility pole in Carol Stream Monday afternoon. Glenside Fire Protection District officials responded to the crash at Schmale Road and Kehoe Boulevard around 3:15 p.m. An ambulance took one person to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield with unknown injuries from the crash, officials said. ComEd crews were on the scene fixing the damaged utility pole and cross arm as of 5:30 p.m., ComEd spokeswoman Judy Rader said. Carol Stream police are investigating.
