Firefighters collecting food

The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District is collecting food this month for the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Receptacles are at station No. 51, 115 Schelter Road, Lincolnshire, and at station No. 52, 855 Saunders Road, Riverwoods. Nonperishable items will be accepted.

Grant budget on agenda

Grant High School, 285 E. Grand Avenue in Fox Lake, will host a site and facilities meeting at 7 p.m. May 21 to discuss the future renovation and construction planned at the high school. Comprehensive plan

The Fox Lake Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to discuss updating and revising the village's comprehensive plan. The comprehensive plan is the map outlining possible future lane uses. The comprehensive plan has not been updated in 10 years. The meeting will be in the village board room at 66 Thillen Drive. For details, call (847) 587-2151.

Free garden walk

A free garden walk will be hosted by the Gardeners of Central Lake County from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 21. The walk will include three gardens in Libertyville and two gardens in Mundelein. Visitors will be able to vote for the best garden. Pick up maps and directions after June 11 at Cook Memorial Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, or Fremont Public Library, 1170 N.
