BGHS choral concert is tonight
Buffalo Grove High School's Spring Choral Concert, will be at 7 p.m. today at the school's Miller Theater, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove. One of the concert's highlights will feature both the orchestra, and choir, performing an original piece written by a Stevenson High School junior, Elliott Englander. The piece was written to honor his close friend Corey Diamond, a BGHS student killed in a tragic car accident in 2006.
Loza hosts picnic Monday
Pamela E. Loza, Democratic candidate for judge, will host the Annual Paul F. Kantor Memorial Day Picnic, from 2 to 5 p.m. May 26 at 520 Blue Jay Court, Mount Prospect. This event is free and is open to all veterans and their immediate families. For details, contact Julie Tully at (847) 909-5854.
EGHS presents jazz showcase
Elk Grove High School will present its annual Jazz Showcase at 7 p.m. May 28, in the school theater 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village. The concert will feature performances by both jazz instrumentalists and vocalists.
Instrumental selections include: "Adelieland," "Blues for Three Brothers," "Moanin'," and next year's IMEA audition piece, "Thaditutde."
The choir will offer several classics, including a Gershwin medley and "Sentimental Journey." Tickets will be sold at the door at $3 for adults and $2 for senior citizens and students with ID Call (847) 718-4498.
