Maine West 5, Deerfield 0

Guess who won another Central Suburban North softball crown?

For the fourth time in five seasons under coach Mike Murin, Maine West is the division champion.

The Warriors blanked host Deerfield 5-0 Tuesday behind junior Emily Ott's 3-hitter.

The powerful junior right-hander (14-2) struck out three and did not walk a batter as the girls from Des Plaines improved to 20-2 and 9-0 in the CSL North.

It marks the sixth straight season Murin has guided the Warriors to 20 wins or more.

Nicole Eisenberg (2-for-4, RBI), Caryn McGinley (2-for-3, RBI, triple) and Maggie Ehorn (1-for-3, RBI) led the offense.

The Warriors will shoot for a perfect conference record on Thursday when they host Highland Park.
