Let's make sure America stays great
We are a great nation, but we can lose that distinction in a heart beat.
Our leaders are borrowing from other countries that are not very friendly to us. That is a minus.
We let our language be mixed up with other nations. That is a minus.
We do not insist that our flag be flown and not be torn down. That is a big minus.
We should be proud of America and not let citizens of other nations dictate to us what they want.
We also should insist that anyone who wants to come to America learn our language and not force police, firemen and so forth to learn their language.
I came here legally in 1955 and tried to fit in. My husband told me, "We are now in America. Let's speak the language of the land. Let's not be a burden to this land."
I understand that it is a good thing to learn a different language. It should not be forced on people. Instead, it should be mandatory to speak the language of the land if you want to stay here.
