Sherman's latest foe? Keith Olbermann

MSNBC talk show host Keith Olbermann has Buffalo Grove atheist Rob Sherman riled up.

On Monday's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," the host anointed Sherman with the title "Worst Person in the World" -- a daily feature on the show -- after he called black state Rep. Monique Davis of Chicago a "Negro" on his Web site.

He referred to Davis with that term while charging that she'd discriminated against him because he's an atheist.

That followed an April 2 confrontation between the two when Sherman testified before a House committee on which Davis sits. She berated him for being an atheist, saying it posed a danger to the state and he had no right to be there.

"You believe in destroying what this state was built upon," she said.

For that, Davis earned the show's "Worst Person in the World" tag on April 8.

Sherman said black friends and officials at the United Negro College Fund and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People told him they're not offended by him but by Olbermann, or "white journalists," deciding what blacks should be offended by.

As for Davis, she says she shouldn't have taken out her anger about an unrelated issue -- the recent killings of Chicago schoolchildren -- on Sherman, but questions his defense of the term "Negro."

"I just think it's disrespectful for you to use terms that were used during the days of great discrimination," she said.

Still, she said he "is not important enough for me to waste more time with this."
