Students perform at Fine Arts Festival

Immanuel Lutheran School will be host for the annual Lutheran Schools Fine Arts Festival today.

Each year students gather from Immanuel Crystal Lake, Immanuel East Dundee, St. John Algonquin, St. John Elgin and Good Shepherd Elgin to participate in a judged fine arts festival.

The students will perform in Instrumental, Piano, Handbells, Art and Vocal.

It is a daylong event and judges from around the community are invited to evaluate the student's various contributions, sharing comments and scores that will help the students see areas where they can improve.

This year the adjudicators are Barb Schotanus, Katie Johnson, Lori Anderson, Melody Kuphal, Barb Faga, Cindy Meier and Jane McMullen.

The festival begins at 9:45 a.m. and continues with a general break for lunch until the end of the day.

The day concludes with an afternoon "Best of Day" concert, where the Festival Band, Handbell Ensemble and Festival Chorus perform as well as those solos and ensembles selected from the day's activities as the "Best of Day."
