Three charged in foiled Bolingbrook robbery
Three men face a variety of charges after Bolingbrook police nabbed them in what appears to be a botched robbery attempt, authorities said Friday.
Bolingbrook police said they responded at 3:55 p.m. Thursday to a report of a disturbance at the Traden' Post, 295 S. Schmidt Road.
Police said the blinds were drawn and the door was locked when officers arrived, but they could hear arguing inside and tried to make contact.
Officers finally forced open the front door and saw three men trying to flee out the back. Other officers were waiting outside and took all three men into custody.
Police said they searched the business and found an employee whom the would-be robbers apparently had tied up.
Arrested in connection with the incident were Ivan C. Hardemon, 20, of Country Club Hills; Dante D. Jackson, 19, of Harvey; and Keith E. McIntosh Jr., 21, of Hazel Crest.
The Will County state's attorney's office has charged all three with robbery, aggravated battery, burglary and unlawful possession of a stolen firearm.
The three were transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
All property taken from the store has been recovered. Police said their investigation is continuing.
