Car show canceled in Streamwood

Streamwood High School's car show scheduled for Sunday has been canceled.

Give the gift of life at blood drive

The Gilberts Community Emergency Response Team and the Gilberts Elementary School are hosting a blood drive, in conjunction with LifeSource, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Gilberts Elementary School, 729 Paperbark Lane.

It's time to sign up for Elgin camps

Registration is ongoing for City of Elgin Parks & Recreation Summer Camp Programs running June 4 to Aug. 15.

Camp locations include the Centre, Wing Park, Lords Park and Prairie View School, where campers will enjoy organized games, hiking, arts and crafts, swimming, special events, singing, various sports and a field trip each session.

Each camper also will receive a logo T-shirt.

Learn about Peer to Peer program

The Association for Individual Development is hosting a free Peer to Peer Education course at the Mercy Provena Behavioral Health Center in Aurora. This course will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays for nine weeks starting May 6.

Peer to Peer is a group-based recovery program developed by the National Alliance for Mental Illness. It aims to teach coping skills to prevent individuals with mental illness from relapsing.
