YWCA Elgin
The YWCA Elgin has announced the nominees for its 25th Annual Leader Luncheon, which will be May 8 at The Seville in Streamwood.
Winners are announced at the luncheon, which is held in recognition of local/area women who are outstanding in one of eight specific categories. One corporation also is chosen for its proactive efforts to help women advance within the workplace through innovative employee programs.
Nominees include:
Margaret Hillis Award for the Arts: Jeanne Hebeisen, Alice Aust Thompson.
Beatrice Dorsey Award for Business and Professions: Yvon Fahrenwald, Pat Folz, Kathy Hannell, Stella Paul, Carole Robertson and Cheryl Wendt.
Marguerite Henry Award for Communications
/Technology: Heather J. Gates, Amybeth Maurer and Susan Salach.
Harriet Gifford, Award for Education: Alison Douglas, Andrea Fiebig, Cathryn Ilani, Elizabeth Brown Marston, Dr. Roberta Nauman and Edith Rugg.
Myrtle Speigler Award for Public Service: Nancy Rohr and Charlene Sligting.
Marie Grolich Award for Social Service: Wendy Breitmayer, Shelley Wasmond Lewis, Tina Link, Karen Lynn Maloney, Maureen Manning-Rosenfeld and Lynn O'Shea,
Marjorie Leonard Award for Volunteer/Community Service: Susan Angell-Case, Kirstin Chapski, Patricia Ciston, Sheri Darmon, Linda Fagan, Jennifer Ford, Jennifer Tams, Jamie Van Parys and Joanna Wester.
Racial Justice: Adriana Carpio de Palma, Velma Sept and Vivian Steele.
Corporate Award: Gail Borden Public Library and Greater Elgin Family Care Center.
