Fox River may recede
The worst may be over for Fox Valley residents in the latest round of flooding.
The Fox River seemed to be holding steady Saturday after rising slightly when light rain peppered the region.
Meanwhile, the Kane County Office of Emergency Management received no requests for aid, Executive Director Don Bryant said.
The river has been about 2 feet above flood stage since Friday.

And barring any significant rain, the waters could soon be receding, Bryant said.
"The river should crest sometime early (this) week and then go down," he said.
A few Fox Valley residents in low-lying areas have reported water around their homes and in their basements -- but so far, homes have been mostly spared.
Sandbags have been distributed to just a handful of homes in flood-prone areas, including St. Charles Township's Valley View area and the Algonquin Shores area.
There were no reports of flooding in the Tri-Cities area. Farther north, emergency workers reported minor localized flooding but said few roads or homes had been flooded yet.
The pattern was the same throughout the suburbs Saturday: light rain pushed river levels higher but not enough to endanger homes.
Fox Lake Emergency Services Disaster Agency Coordinator Ed Lescher said the he didn't get any emergency calls Saturday and that only a couple pallets of sandbags were distributed.
"We're keeping an eye on it and it's going to get higher," he said. "But there's really nothing we can do about it."
Lescher said about 50 homes had water on their properties, but less than a dozen had flood damage.
