Seminar to teach you about technology

Progressive Technology Solutions will present "Making Technology Work for You," a free seminar from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and April 24 at its offices, 720 Industrial Drive, Unit 113, Cary.

"It's as simple as this, if you use a PC in your business or personal life, you have data on your hard drive that is worth stealing," said Christopher Smith, founder of Progressive Technology Solutions LLC.

Smith started the company in 2002 because he saw a real need for providing IT support without all the jargon.

"My business is not to scare you. My business is to arm you with technology not only to protect your company from predators and malfunctions, but also to arm you with networking technology so you can work faster, smarter and communicate better with your staff and your customers."

The seminar will provide an introduction to OpenSource tools and information about security and networking.
