Rhapsodize about Gershwin at weekend ESO concert

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will perform Gershwin's timeless "Rhapsody in Blue" at concerts at 8 p.m. Friday at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts, and 8 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hemmens Cultural Center in downtown Elgin. Andrew Lewis will conduct and Rich Ridenour is the pianist.

ESO favorite Ridenour returns for a concert of Gershwin and Gershwin-inspired favorites. Hear the jazzy soundscape of "Rhapsody in Blue" -- a masterpiece of Americana -- performed by Ridenour, an American master musician. Then, enjoy the world premiere of a Gershwin-influenced work by composer Peter Boyer.

Tickets start at $25 and range up to $70 for the best seats in the house.
