Transparency at College of DuPage?
The front page of the Daily Herald reported on how certain College of DuPage Board members negotiated a contract with a PR firm, to the tune of $90,000, apparently without the knowledge of the college's president or the public information director. College of DuPage Trustee Kathy Wessel voted against engaging the firm, being quoted as saying she did not know what the group was going to do.
Compare this news item to the Saturday, April 12 letter to the editor from College of DuPage Board Chairman Micheal McKinnon, concerning the recent news about a proposal to open a campus in Costa Rica, which has come under critical review since being reported.
In the letter, Chairman McKinnon states: "every idea that is pursued is done so transparently, with ample input from our stakeholders..."
Am I the only one amused by this?
