Congress must be held accountable
Voters have expressed their desire for change, but Congress is not listening.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barney Frank are pursuing more bailouts even though 80 percent of Americans didn't want the initial bailout in the first place.
When does this idiocy end? These are the same Democrats who complained about deficit spending, but it must be OK when they do it.
Government at all levels seems oblivious to the fact the economy is in trouble, but it doesn't affect them.
Some local agencies are making cuts but not so as one moves up a level or two. The taxpayer is wiser than the politician.
When the going gets tough, the taxpayer cuts spending in an attempt to live within the budget. When will the government do the same?
Wasn't this the change we needed? Businesses are closing, home foreclosures are growing, consumer spending is falling and so is stock market.
A reasonable person would understand taxes from those areas would be down considerably.
That means government will not have the amount of money it used to enjoy, but politicians go on spending as if it were a bull market economy.
Most of the do-nothing Congress is still intact. Unlike the taxpayers, they are insulated from the economic woes and have the power to give themselves a raise to avoid those problems.
The change we needed was political accountability and responsibility when taxing and spending. Lots of campaign talk about transparency and honesty which hasn't happened yet.
