Buyers are sweet on The Townes of Apple Creek, a community of 370 maintenance-free townhouses nestled in Woodstock's scenic countryside.
The community features more than 200 acres of open space with mature trees, bike paths, parks, ponds and Apple Creek.
Townhouses offer two bedrooms or two bedrooms and loft, 1 to 2 baths, patios and two-car attached garages. Basements, including English styles, are available in some buildings.
Located on Route 47 just north of Lucas Road in Woodstock, the 559-acre master-planned community by Kirk Homes will also feature 746 single-family homes.
Kirk Homes showcases different levels of merchandising in five townhouse models. Three decorated models show upgrades while the two vignettes have standard features for those who want to visualize the home with their own furnishings before options and upgrades, said Janey Amidei, vice president of marketing and sales for Kirk Homes.
"We have homes for immediate delivery or for late this year, so we can find something to meet any timetable. We also have fantastic home counselors who can assist with good mortgage plans and payments."
Three fully furnished and decorated townhouse models present interiors by Nadia Geller of "While You Were Out" television fame.
The Yellowstone is priced from $169,995 and offers 1,248 square feet, two bedrooms and 1 baths. Featuring a sailing theme, this plan especially appeals to singles and is decorated as a bachelor pad with dark browns, greens and slate.
The two-story foyer with upgraded vinyl flooring leads to the living room where a direct vent gas fireplace takes center stage. There's plenty of seating, and framed old world maps create interest. Topped with a candle centerpiece, the dining room table is set for six. The room accesses the patio.
The kitchen features black appliances, Corian countertops and lots of cabinets and counter space. For a quick bite in the kitchen, there's a bistro table and two chairs. A half bath completes the main level.
Upstairs, the master bath has a volume ceiling, green and brown striped bedspread, built-ins with a plasma TV and walk-in closet. Keeping with the theme, pictures of lighthouses hang on walls in the private bath with raised vanities, tub and walk-in shower.
The second bedroom is outfitted as a home office with open bookshelves and a clock display on the wall. There is also a full hall bath and laundry room.
The Nantucket is priced from $175,995 and offers 1,416 square feet, two bedrooms with loft or three bedrooms, and 2 baths. This light, bright interior decorated in colors of the sea shows a mix of patterns and textures with lots of floral prints.
The two-story foyer leads to a living room furnished with a green sofa and two teal chairs. The fireplace features a ceramic tile surround and recessed lighting with a candle and mirror display above and two windows on either side.
Sushi is served in the dining room, where pictures of poppies add color and doors lead to the patio. The kitchen features white appliances and cupboards, premium laminate countertops, porcelain sink and hand-painted table with two chairs.
The loft has built-ins and a lounge chair with sheers and valance.
Topped with a volume ceiling, the master bedroom shows distressed wood furnishings, tan floral bedspread with white ruffle and a reading chair. The bath has a tub and walk-in shower.
The second bedroom features a day bed with white cover and embroidered pillows. There is also a full bath with tub and shower combo.
The Great Plaines is priced from $189,995 and has 1,583 square feet, two bedrooms with loft or third bedroom. This home features a lot of textures and woven materials with a bit of an Asian flair.
The two-story foyer with hardwood floors leads into the great room, where a terra cotta wall with built-ins adds color and two area rugs bring texture to the space.
A bay window with two woven chairs and table creates a conversation area. Placed at an angle, a brown suede sofa and floral print chair provide seating while a brick fireplace with wood mantel and plasma TV is a focal point.
In the dining room, a distressed wood table is topped with a table runner and gold place settings. Doors bring you out to the patio.
The kitchen features grass cloth wallpaper, light wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and pantry with French door.
Built-ins create a work space in the loft. The master bedroom features a paisley print spread with pink ruffle, two end tables, dresser and mirror. Two closets have mirrored doors while the bath has a sink and tub/shower combo. The second bedroom is set up as a nursery. There is also a full hall bath.
