Prospect celebrates 50th with 'Grease'

To celebrate Prospect High School's 50th anniversary, the PHS Theater Department presents its spring musical, "Grease," the story of high school students who live in a world of burger palaces, drive-ins and fast cars. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. April 16-19, in Prospect's theater at 801 W. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect.

Tickets are available at the student activities office and are $9 in advance and $10 at the door. Group rates are also available. Call (847) 718-5213.

Chamber hosts talk on local tourism

Fran Bolson, president of the Woodfield Chicago Northwest Convention and Visitors Bureau will discuss the "State of Tourism in the Northwest Suburbs" during the next Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce meeting, which begins at 11:30 a.m. April 16 at Bristol Court Banquets, 828 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect. Lunch is $25. Register by Friday. Call (847) 398-6616.

MacArthur alumni can get scholarship

The William P. Caputo Scholarship Fund will award a $1,000 scholarship to a District 23 graduate this June.

High school seniors who graduated from MacArthur Middle School in Prospect Heights and are going on to a university, college, vocational, technical, or training school may apply. Applications are available at the college placement offices of Hersey, Wheeling, and St. Viator high schools, and online at d23.org. Submit applications by April 15.

District 23 serves students in Prospect Heights and some areas of Wheeling, Arlington Heights, and Mount Prospect.
