Man found in Silver Lake drowned, coroner says

The man found floating in Silver Lake in Oakwood Hills Tuesday died of drowning.

"No foul play is suspected at this time," McHenry County Coroner Marlene Lantz said after Wednesday's autopsy, noting the investigation continues and toxicology reports will not be complete for some time.

The man has been identified as Pedro Garcia, 38, who investigators believe lived near the lake in Oakwood Hills, just north of Cary.

Oakwood Hills Police and the coroner's office continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the discovery of Garcia's body about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

"We're trying to find out when he was last seen and if anybody heard anything," Lantz said.

McHenry County Sheriff's Police and the Cary Fire Protection District also responded to the scene.
