NHRA tickets on sale Monday at Route 66

Tickets go on sale Monday for the 2008 season at Route 66 Raceway, the record-setting 1/4-mile drag strip and 1/2-mile dirt oval in Joliet.

Tickets for the 2008 schedule, including the Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals, can be purchased beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Route 66 Raceway Ticket Office, by phone at (888) 629-RACE (7223) or online at www.route66raceway.com.

Highlighting the 2008 season at Route 66 Raceway is the NHRA Nationals June 5-8, which will be the only visit to Joliet for the NHRA POWERade. Eery ticket is also a pit pass, allowing access to the drivers, cars and the pit area.

"With only one NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event at Route 66 Raceway in June, we are once again expecting big crowds to go along with great racing throughout the entire weekend," said Matthew Alexander, president of Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway. "Every year we've seen an increase in attendance, including last year's event, where we were only 41 tickets short of surpassing our biggest attendance for the entire weekend since the drag strip opened in 1998."

The 2008 season at Route 66 Raceway will feature five Team Demolition Derbies on the 1/2-mile dirt oval track beginning on May 24. Route 66 Raceway will also host Monster Trucks, manufacturer shows, Test N' Tunes, Bracket Series racing and other events.
