Teens hurt in crash near Kaneland

Two teenagers were hospitalized after a crash near Kaneland High School on Tuesday.

Sally Weaver, 17, of Aurora was turning left from Dauberman Road onto Keslinger Road when her car was hit by a cargo truck at 10:35 a.m., according to the Kane County sheriff's office.

She was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, while her passenger, Cieara Hayes, 17, of Aurora, was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva.

Weaver suffered a fractured pelvis and a minor concussion, a spokeswoman at Good Samaritan said. She is listed in fair condition.

Information on Hayes was not available, but police said her injuries were not life-threatening.

The driver of the truck, Daniel McGhee, 21, of Addison, was uninjured.

Weaver was cited for failure to yield right of way and no valid insurance, according to police.
