Teenagers accused of burglaries in Fox Valley towns
Police hope they have stopped a series of residential burglaries in Carpentersville, Algonquin and Lakewood with the arrests of two teens.
Daniel W. Olsen, 17, of 1530 Wynnfield Drive, Algonquin, was charged in Elgin Branch Court Wednesday with two counts of felony residential burglary, one count of theft and one count of possession of stolen property, according to a police report.
Nicholas Harris, 19, whose address is unknown, appeared in McHenry County court on Tuesday and was charged with residential burglary, trespass to a residence, resisting a police officer and damage to property, police said.
The two teens were arrested Tuesday for a burglary at a home in Lakewood on March 14, police said.
Police say the two participated in two home burglaries in Carpentersville.
On March 11, two laptop computers, about $166 in change, a cell phone and some prescription drugs were stolen from a home on the 6600 block of Majestic Way.
Early Tuesday morning, two PDAs, several rings, a watch, two MP3 players and other items were removed from a home on the 3000 block of Sunbury Lane.
Olsen, a student at Jacobs High School, posted bond in McHenry County Tuesday and was released and posted a $4,000 bond in Carpentersville on Wednesday. He has an April 3 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Olsen admitted to several residential burglaries in Carpentersville, Algonquin and Lakewood during questioning, police said, so more charges could follow.
Harris has a $5,000 bond in McHenry County and faces more charges in Carpentersville when he is released.
