Those interested in filling the seat should send a letter of interest to board Chair Laurie Stone. The letter should include their qualifications and why they would like to be appointed. A resume, contact information and three references should also be included.

Application materials should be sent to Laurie Stone, Chair, Harper Board of Trustees, c/o Schaumburg Business Association, 1501 E Woodfield Road, No. 115N, Schaumburg, IL 60173. Deadline is the end of the day April 4.

Runway flashback: Styles from the '50s and '60s - some modeled by seniors who once wore them - will hit the runway in a show staged by Harper students at 2 p.m. April 4 at Friendship Village, 350 W. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.

Students in Harper's fashion program are teaming with Schaumburg's Friendship Village senior community to offer a "Sands of Time" fashion show, and some of the center's residents will serve as models. They'll wear historical looks from bygone eras, donated to Harper by the Fashion Institute of New York.

Other clothes, including newer garments produced in a variety of Harper classes, will be modeled by Harper students.

The show will include a brief presentation detailing Harper's fashion program and explaining the inspiration behind the fashion show's designs.
