Tell RTA how you feel about plan to ease your commute

The Regional Transportation Authority is giving the public a chance to comment on a sweeping plan to improve commutes in the area.

The agency's Cook-DuPage Corridor transportation proposal would include bus rapid transit, car-pool lanes and expansion of the Chicago Transit Authority's Blue Line into Lombard.

The Cook/DuPage corridor being studied by the RTA stretches from Cicero Avenue in Chicago to the Kane County line. At the center is the Eisenhower Expressway and Reagan Tollway, while Metra's Milwaukee West Line and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Line form the north and south borders, respectively.

The proposal could cost up to $8 million. Several forums are scheduled for people to comment and learn about the plan in the next two weeks.

• Noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the RTA offices, 175 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago.

• 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Park village hall, 123 Madison St., Oak Park.

• 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lombard village hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., Lombard.

• 6 to 7 p.m. March 18 at the Addison village hall, 1 Friendship Plaza, Addison.
