Benet makes security plan

Benet Academy officials, in reaction to graffiti discovered Wednesday in a girls wash room in St. Thomas Hall referencing "Columbine" and the date "3/26/08," have established a security plan to preventing tragedies. In a letter to parents and posted on the district's home page Thursday, Principal Stephen Marth said officials reported the matter to the Lisle Police Department and "decided it best to apprise students, faculty and staff, and parents of the situation the first thing this morning and to seek whatever information we could pertaining to this matter." He said the school would not be revealing details of the safety plan. "Therefore, I just wanted to inform you that we remain attentive and alert while proceeding with the important educational activities that our students and teachers engage in daily here at the Academy," he wrote.
