Booster Club offers 15 scholarships

The Fremd Viking Booster Club will award 15 $1,000 scholarships to outstanding Fremd High School seniors. The scholarships are for students planning on attending a junior college or trade school.

Financial need and academic accomplishments are not under consideration. Applications should be dropped off by 3 p.m. Thursday in the booster club mailbox. Forms are available online at fhs.d211.org or in the school guidance office.

Appeal assessments through Thursday

The deadline is Thursday for Hoffman Estates residents to appeal property assessments with the Cook County Board of Review.

Residents can go to Palatine Township to file the proper paperwork with Commissioner Brendan Houlihan's office, which is also open for questions.
