Actor portrays FDR for Cary students
On Feb. 13, Franklin Delano Roosevelt paid a visit to Cary Junior High and spoke with each eighth-grade team.
Sitting in his customary wheelchair and with that jaunty look he has perfected over the years, FDR calmly spoke to the students of his New Deal plans.
He also shared information about his path to the White House and his love of being President of the United States.
After his prepared remarks, the president fielded numerous questions from the students, who queried him about difficult aspects of his job, favorite programs, attitude toward critics and other issues.
Mr. Roosevelt's visit was sponsored by the Cary Education Foundation, several of whom came to watch the presentation by Robert Lindsey, a professional historical actor from Chicago.
