Banning outdoor smoking is ludicrous
I read the article about Westfield Old Orchard's plan to implement a ban on smoking in outdoor areas.
OUTDOOR AREAS? Are they kidding? Isn't this a place where soccer moms drive up in gas-guzzling pollution-spewing SUVs? This is the plan for providing clean air for children?
How about this; no internal-combustion vehicles allowed in the parking lot. Hybrids or better only. That's striking a blow for clean air! And while we're at it, revoke all leases of shops selling any kind of tobacco product. It's not fair to profit from things they don't let you use. That should extend to the government also.
So, are the managers of Old Orchard serious about clean air or just some more mean-spirited tobacco-fascists?
