Kane County

• James B. Randich, 36, 39W860 Prairie St. in Sugar Grove Township, was charged with theft of labor services and possession of a controlled substance after police came to his home at 4:49 p.m. Saturday. Randich did not pay for a taxi ride to his house.

• A newly built residence on the 5N400 block of Deer Pond Street in St. Charles Township was reported vandalized Friday. Damage was estimated at $800.

• A $2,500 snow plow parked on the 1600 block of South River Street in Batavia Township was stolen between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.

• A trailer with landscaping equipment inside, valued at $16,600, was stolen while it was parked on the 37W300 block of Keslinger Road in Geneva Township between 6 and 9 p.m. Saturday.

St. Charles

• Eduardo Escalante, 18, 816 Oak St., West Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft Saturday in connection with his work as a cashier at Target, 3885 E. Main St. Escalante rang up items at reduced prices for family and friends between Feb. 23 and March 8.
