Briefs: Nominate a U-46 employee

Today is the deadline to submit nominations for the Elgin Area School District U-46 Employee of the Year. Nominating forms are available on the district Web site, www.u-46.org.

Feng shui class

School garden fundraiser:

Personalized bricks are for sale to help fund a garden at Lincoln Elementary in St. Charles. Orders will be accepted through Friday. The garden will be used by students and teachers as a quiet place to read or write. It will be landscaped and have tables, chairs and a gated enclosure. Engraved bricks, which are 4 inches by 8 inches, are available for $50. Inscriptions can be three lines with 13 characters each. Order forms are available at the school, 211 S. Breakfast with the Bunny:

The Aurora Noon Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast with the Easter bunny from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Luigi's Pizza, 732 Prairie St. in Aurora. The breakfast will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes with sausage, mini doughnuts and beverages. Children are invited to have photos taken with the bunny. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 12. Tickets are available from Lions members and at the door. Call (630) 921-1307 for details.

St. Charles changes billing

St. Charles utility customers will soon receive their utility bills in an envelope, instead of on a postcard. An envelope for payment will be included. The outside of the envelope will state "Utility Bill Enclosed." The new format will include a graph depicting electric and water usage over the previous 13 months. Call (630) 377-4426 for details.

Oak Street open house

The village of North Aurora will have an open house for the Oak Street widening project from Randall Road to Route 31 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 2 at village hall, 25 E. State St. Village representatives will be available to discuss the project. Preliminary reports and an engineering analysis -- which includes drawings, maps and aerial photography -- will be available for inspection during the open house.
