Historic council to meet in Marengo
The Joint Council of Historic Groups will meet at 7 p.m. March 26 at the Riley Township hall, 9406 Riley Road, Marengo. The Riley Township hall is McHenry County's oldest governmental building still in use.
The public is invited to this informal meeting of local historical societies and preservation commissions, old-house enthusiasts and all others interested in historic preservation.
The group meets twice each year to network, plan activities for National Preservation month in May and learn about this county's unique history.
The Scenic Road Program sponsored by the McHenry County Historic Preservation Commission, and a new public arts program called Quilted Barns are on the agenda, as is a short PowerPoint program on preservation by commission President Denise Collins.

Shop & Share will help rehab center
The McHenry County Independent Riders and Adult & Child Rehab Center will hold Shop & Share Days at local Jewel-Osco stores today through Wednesday and March 24-26, 31 and April 1-2. When you shop at Jewel-Osco on any of these days and present a Shop & Share slip with your purchase, a portion of the total will be donated back to the Adult & Child Rehab Center.

The Adult & Child Rehab Center provides physical, occupational and speech therapies, as well as home nursing care, to the residents of McHenry County. The McHenry County Independent Riders is an organization that provides a great deal of financial support to the rehab center.
