Easter egg hunts planned to celebrate holiday
Here is a look at the Easter egg hunts in the Tri-Cities area this weekend:
Batavia
Children ages 2 to 8 can look for eggs beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Path Park, 813 Mark Twain Trail in Batavia (between Hart and Raddant roads about one mile north of Route 56).
Admission is free, but families are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or a paper product for the Batavia Food Pantry.

Elburn
The Elburn Lions Club has breakfast with the Easter Bunny goes from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Registration for the Easter egg hunt -- which is for preschool to third grade students -- is at 9 a.m. and the hunt begins at 10 a.m. at Lions Park, 500 S. Filmore St. Call (630) 365-6315.
Geneva
The Geneva Park District holds an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wheeler Park on Route 31, just north of Route 38. Children up to age 9 are welcome to the free event. The event will be held indoors at the Geneva Community Center, 710 Western Ave. in case of bad weather.
St. Charles
The St. Charles Park District holds an Easter egg hunt Saturday at Pottawatomie Park off Second Avenue about a mile north of Route 64.
Participants should begin lining up at 9:45 a.m. at the entrance gate to the miniature golf course. The free event is for children up to age 9. Children 2 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
