You can order a rain barrel
Pre-orders for 60-gallon, terra cotta colored rain barrels are being taken by the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission. Stored water can be used to water your garden, lawn or house plants and for auto washing and window cleaning. Cost is $79 per barrel and includes a spigot, two overflow valves and a screen to keep out mosquitoes. Deadline to order is April 7 with pick up dates of May 9 and 10 at Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville. Visit www.co.lake.il.us/smc or www.lcfpd.org.
