• Nicholas Giacobbe and Adam Larsen, both of Bartlett, were among 46 Northern Illinois University business students honored Aug. 25 for winning a competition that covered all aspects of campus life among the residents of NIU's Business Careers House. Participants won points for activities such as making the dean's list, tutoring peers, attending professional development workshops, volunteering for charitable projects and participating in the College of Business' Ethics Day.
• Illinois State University in Normal announced the following students completed requirements for a bachelor's degree at the end of the summer 2007 term.
Bartlett: Jason Scott Dyrkacz and Christopher I. Harris.
Hanover Park: Christine Danielle Moss and Joseph Ryan Serafin.
• Yaa Akuffo Larbi of Hanover Park completed requirements for a master's degree from Illinois State University, Normal, at the end of the 2007 summer session.
• Grishma Rajendra Rupani of Streamwood completed requirements for a master's degree from Illinois State University, Normal, at the end of the 2007 summer session.
• Logan John Slipetz of Bartlett graduated with a master of business administration degree from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, at the end of the 2007 summer semester.
• Christopher Steven of Hanover Park graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, at the end of the 2007 summer semester.
• Meredith Lynn Sweeney of Hanover Park graduated with a master of arts degree from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, at the end of the 2007 summer semester.
• Juliana Lindner and Kelly Rostine, both of Hanover Park and students at Purdue University, were selected for membership in the 2007 Purdue "All-American" Marching Band.
• Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, announced the following students received bachelor's degrees Aug. 11 at the end of the summer session.
Bartlett: Darlene Jean Buck, nursing; Michael Anthony Hodge, communications, organizational/corporate; Ericka Jennah Hopper, preventive and rehabilitation exercise science; Kelli R. Nelson, business administration; and Patrick Arthur Tuggle, communications, media studies.
Hanover Park: Shahidah Parveen, public health; and Salman Ahmed, finance.
Streamwood: Justin Allen Behrman, physical education; Katie Snezhkova, preventive and rehabilitation science; and Donna Lynn Stout, psychology.
• Samantha Delfin of Hanover Park, a student at Marquette University in Milwaukee, was named to the Fall 2007 Dean's List.
• Michael Albert Kosiek of Hanover Park, a student majoring in music, pre-education/secondary, at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo., was named to the Fall 2007 Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs' List. To qualify, students must attain a semester 3.50 to 3.99 grade point average.
• Jessica Domokos, daughter of Cheryl and Daniel Domokos of Streamwood, was awarded the Trustees' Scholarship to attend The University of Findlay in Ohio for the 2007-08 academic year. Domokos, a freshman who graduated in 2007 from Streamwood High School, was active in art club, ecology club, photography club, multicultural club, Crossfire political debate club, softball, principal's advisory board and received presidential honors awards while in high school.
• Colleen A. Paulsen of Bartlett, a pre-veterinary medicine major at The University of Findlay in Ohio, was named to the spring 207 Dean's list for attaining a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Sarah E Pyter of Streamwood received a bachelor's degree from the College of Letters and Science during graduation ceremonies Dec. 16 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
• Elizabeth E. Hain of Hanover Park, a senior at Millikin University, Decatur, was named to the Dean's List for the 2007 fall semester for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
• Stephanie Ehlers of Streamwood was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2007 semester at Winona State University in Minnesota for achieving a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
• Nycole Stawinoga of Streamwood was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2007 semester at Winona State University in Minnesota for achieving a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
• Hope College in Holland, Mich., named the following students to the Dean's List for the first semester of the 2007-08 school year for having a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
